The Give Back
Soaper Duper supports wateraid and clean the world
SOAPER DUPER SUPPORTS WATERAID™ AND CLEAN THE WORLD™ To bring soap and water to communities who need it, because we believe that soap can change everything™.
By 2019 we will give to WaterAid (Registered Charity No. 288701) and Clean The World at least £150k and £20K respectively.
WaterAid transforms lives in the world’s poorest communities by improving access to safe water, proper toilets and good hygiene. The international charity works across Africa, Asia, Central America and the Pacific region, and has reached 23 million people with safe water since 1981 and 21 million people with sanitation since 2004.
Hygiene is crucial in preventing disease. Together with safe water and sanitation it can transform people’s health, education and livelihoods. Something as simple as handwashing with soap can cut incidences of diarrhoea almost in half. And in the countries where WaterAid works, Diarrhoea is more than an inconvenience: it kills around 315,000 children under five around the world each year.
As well as improving access to safe water and proper toilets, WaterAid promotes good hygiene, educating local communities and saving lives. Its vision is for everyone everywhere to have access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene by 2030.

WATERAID BY NUMBERS:
Around 315,000 children die each year from diarrhoeal diseases caused by dirty water and poor sanitation. That’s almost 900 children each day, or one child every two minutes
Over 663 million people (around one in ten) do not have safe water
Over 2.4 billion people (around one in three) do not have an adequate toilet
If everyone everywhere practised good hygiene, the number of diarrhoeal deaths would be cut by 23%
Hygiene promotion is the most cost effective health intervention according to the World Bank
For every £1 invested in water and sanitation, an average of £4 is returned in increased productivity
Just £15 can help provide one person with access to safe water
Each day, around 5,500 children die from diseases that can be prevented by up to 65% through regular hand washing with a bar of soap. The hospitality industry discards millions of soap bars daily into landfills, which damage our planet’s resources. Clean the World embraced this incredible opportunity, creating a truly sustainable and life-saving solution.
Clean the World is a social enterprise executing a mission to collect and recycle soap and hygiene products discarded every day by the hospitality industry and other sectors that generate environmental waste. Through the distribution of these and other donated products to impoverished people, Clean the World prevents millions of hygiene-related deaths each year, reduces the morbidity rate for hygiene-related illnesses, and encourages vigorous childhood development.
Since launching in 2009, Clean the World has distributed more than 30 million bars of soap to children and families in 100 countries worldwide (including Japan, The Philippines, Haiti, Swaziland and domestic shelters and relief organisations in North America) while fulfilling an environmental mission by diverting 4,300 tons of hotel waste from polluting landfills in North America.
